Hon’ble Prime Minister meets PMAY-U beneficiaries in Bhubaneswar
17th September 2024
Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi visited the house of Shri Antaryami Nayak, a proud beneficiary of Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana - Urban from Bhubaneswar, Odisha. Hon’ble Prime Minister met the entire family and was served the traditional Kheer upon his th arrival. Coincidentally, it was Hon’ble Prime Minister’s birthday on 17 September 2024. At the event in Bhubaneswar, Hon’ble Prime Minister mentioned about his visit to Shri Nayak’s house and shared, “Before coming here, I visited the home of a tribal family for their housewarming ceremony. This family has also received their new home under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana. The joy on their faces and the satisfaction they felt are things I will never forget. The sister in that tribal family happily offered me ‘kheer’! As I was eating the kheer, it naturally reminded me of my mother. When my mother was alive, I used to visit her on my birthday to seek her blessings, and she would always feed me jaggery. Though my mother is no longer with me, today, a tribal mother fed me kheer and blessed me on my birthday. This experience, this feeling, is something I will treasure for the rest of my life”. Meanwhile, Hon’ble Prime Minister also interacted with some other PMAY-U beneficiaries on the occasion. Lives of these families have been transformed massively after getting a pucca house with all amenities under the Scheme. They are leading a secured and dignified life in their own houses.
