NIUA at 50: Technical Session on Housing, Built Environment and New Construction Technologies to Promote Urban Resilience

Shri Kuldip Narayan, JS&MD, HFA participated in the Golden Jubilee celebrations of National Institute of Urban Affairs (NIUA) in New Delhi on 13th June 2026, where he chaired a technical session on ‘Housing, Built Environment and New Construction Technologies to Promote Urban Resilience’

During the session, it was highlighted that a safe and secure home is the first layer of urban resilience for any individual and family, providing safety, stability and dignity. So, Housing Resilience is the most important component of Urban Resilience.

JS&MD emphasized the need to scale innovative, sustainable and resilient construction technologies to build future-ready cities and stronger communities. Further Social, Economic and Environmental aspects of Housing Resilience were discussed by experts.

The session benefited from the valuable insights shared by the esteemed panellists from NHB, TERI, World Bank, Mahila Housing SEWA Trust, BMTPC and NIUA - fostering a meaningful dialogue on advancing resilient and sustainable urban development.
